How to install the Threads app on iOS phones?

For iOS phones, you can download and install the Threads app from the App Store. To install Threads on iOS phones,

  1. Open Threads app App Store page.
  2. Check app is available for your device.
  3. Tap the “Get” or “Install” button.
  4. Authenticate using your Apple ID (If required).
  5. Allow the app to install.

Threads app initial setup – After installing Threads app

Here are basic things you need to do after installing Threads app,

  1. Sign in using your existing Instagram account.
  2. Customize your Threads profile (Name, Bio, Link), profile can be imported from your Instagram profile.
  3. Choose your profile type, it can be Public profile or Private profile.
  4. Follow the same accounts you follow on Instagram suggestion – you can follow Threads accounts manually using the account’s “Follow” button or follow all suggested Threads accounts by tapping the “Follow all” button from the bottom of list.
  5. Next, read details and tap the “Join Threads” button.

Note: At the moment, Only Instagram users can create Threads accounts. It means, to access Threads, first you will have to sign up for Instagram or have existing Instagram account.
