How to Set the Homepage in Google Chrome? (Homepage Settings)

Setting Chrome’s default homepage means you can choose to open a new tab page or a custom web URL when you click the Chrome home button.

Set homepage for Chrome computer browser

To set the homepage for Chrome computer browser, follow these steps:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the top right, click menu icon “ ⁝ ”.
  3. Click “Settings”.
  4. Click “Appearance” from the left panel.
  5. Turn on the “Show home button” option.
  6. Select “New tab page” or Set your custom homepage.

Note: Instead of the first four steps, you can also type/paste the “chrome://settings/appearance” in the URL bar and hit enter to open homepage settings.

The above steps can be used to enable the Chrome homepage button and set a homepage on Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS.

Set homepage for Chrome mobile browser

To set the homepage for Chrome mobile browser, follow these steps:

  • Open Chrome.
  • In the top right, click menu icon “ ⁝ ”.
  • Tap “Settings”.
  • Under “Advanced, tap “Homepage”.
  • Turn on the Homepage option.
  • Select “Chrome’s homepage” or Set your custom homepage.

The above steps can be used to enable the Chrome homepage button and set a homepage on Android & iOS.

Add multiple URL shortcuts on Chrome homepage

You can add multiple URL shortcuts on Chrome homepage.

To add multiple URL shortcuts on Chrome homepage, open Chrome default homepage which contains Google search bar and shortcuts grid list. Here, click “Add shortcut” plus icon and add URL shortcuts one by one.

Note: Add shortcuts on Chrome homepage not available on mobile browser. For mobile, you can use Menu “ ⁝ “ → “Add to Home screen” option for opened URL, to add URL shortcut on your mobile home screen.
